Chiranjeevi: Ram Charan Surpassed Me in 'Peddi'!

Megastar Chiranjeevi recently engaged with the team of the successful film 'Peddi', sharing his thoughts on its impact and his son Ram Charan's performance. Chiranjeevi revealed that he has been consistently hearing that Ram Charan has surpassed him as an actor with his role in 'Peddi', a sentiment he finds both proud as a father and slightly challenging as a fellow actor.

Reflecting on his career, Chiranjeevi shared a conversation with the late legendary singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. SPB had advised Chiranjeevi to focus more on performance-oriented films, noting his potential beyond commercial cinema. Balasubrahmanyam also conveyed that director K. Balachander once saw shades of both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth in Chiranjeevi.

Chiranjeevi expressed admiration for sports dramas like 'Dangal' and 'Chak De! India', wishing similar opportunities had come his way. He sees 'Peddi' as a distinct 'rustic sports drama' with a social message, which he believes gives it greater longevity than family-oriented films like 'Dangal'. The film's rural setting and educational aspects for various age groups contribute to its unique appeal.
