Chiranjeevi's Jealousy: Ram Charan's 'Peddi' Stole His Dream Role

Veteran actor Chiranjeevi candidly shared his feelings about his son Ram Charan's recent film, 'Peddi'. He expressed immense pride in Charan's performance and the film's compelling narrative, but also admitted to experiencing professional envy. Chiranjeevi revealed that 'Peddi' mirrored the sports-centric drama he had aspired to star in ever since being inspired by the Hindi film 'Dangal'.

Speaking on a YouTube channel, Chiranjeevi elaborated that 'Peddi' transcended typical commercial cinema, offering a significant educational and motivational message. While immensely proud of his son's achievements, Chiranjeevi confessed that, as an actor, he found it difficult to accept that such a role had not come his way earlier. He noted that while opportunities for such content were scarce for him in the past, his son has now brought such a story to life.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, 'Peddi' features Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, chronicling a protagonist's journey through sports to national recognition. Despite varied reviews, the film achieved significant box-office success, grossing over Rs 200 crore nett in India. Discussions have also arisen regarding the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor's character, with the director announcing planned adjustments to the film.
