The "Children of Blood and Bone" novel achieved significant success, spawning two sequels and spending 175 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list. However, author Tomi Adeyemi recently revealed she will not be watching the film adaptation, citing personal reasons. The film is scheduled for release on January 15. The book was initially inspired by Adeyemi's childhood experiences and her desire to see Black protagonists in fantasy adventures.
