In a celebration of the music industry's commitment to supporting cancer research, the City of Hope's annual Spirit of Life gala is set to take place on October 15, 2025. The event will feature a special honor for Warner Records executive Tom Corson, who will receive the prestigious 2025 Spirit of Life Award.
Cher, the legendary music icon, will take the stage to present the award to Corson, the co-chairman and COO of Warner Records. The two have worked closely together in recent years, most notably on Cher's hugely successful holiday album released in 2023, which included her first original material since 2013.
Adding to the star-studded lineup, fellow Warner Records superstar Michael Bublé has been announced as the evening's performer. Corson's labelmates, the iconic rock band Linkin Park, are also expected to be in attendance at the event, which will be held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California.
The City of Hope, a leading cancer research and treatment facility in the United States, has been the beneficiary of the music industry's generosity for over 50 years. The organization has raised nearly $170 million through the efforts of its Music, Film and Entertainment Industry group.
Corson expressed his profound gratitude for the recognition, stating, "At Warner Records, we often say it's not just about the song -- it's about the artist. In the same way, City of Hope isn't just about treatments -- it's about the people, their dreams, and their futures." He went on to highlight the music industry's role in driving positive change and supporting the vital work of the City of Hope.
