Chennai Love Story: Unexpected Box Office Hit

Chennai Love Story, a Telugu romantic film, has achieved significant box office success, grossing over ₹50 crore globally. The movie, which premiered on July 24 with limited initial promotion, gained traction through strong word-of-mouth, overcoming competition from other releases.

The plot follows Nivedita, who falls into depression after a breakup and moves to Chennai. There, she meets Steven Shankar, an aspiring filmmaker, whose presence helps her heal and fall in love. Their plans for marriage are tragically cut short when Steven dies in an accident, sending Nivi back into despair.

Adding a supernatural element, Steven's spirit appears to Nivi after her blood falls on his grave. The story continues as her ex-boyfriend Ajay re-enters her life, creating further dramatic tension.

The film features Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya in lead roles, directed by Lucky Bezawada and Ravi Namburii. It is set to be available for streaming on Sony LIV beginning August 21.
