Oscar winner Jessica Chastain and Chris Pine are collaborating on "This Is Pleasure," a significant new film project being introduced at the European Film Market. The movie is an adaptation of Mary Gaitskill's highly regarded 2019 novella, which offered a nuanced perspective on the #MeToo movement.
The directorial reins have been taken by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, known for their Oscar-nominated "American Splendor." They will guide the narrative of Margot, portrayed by Chastain, as she confronts accusations of misconduct that threaten the career of her close friend, Quin, played by Pine.
Margot faces a critical juncture, compelled to determine whether her choices will be defined by loyalty, forgiveness, or the pursuit of truth amidst the end of their long-standing, vibrant friendship. Nina Raine adapted the screenplay from Gaitskill's original work.
