While Puth denied any involvement, several other celebrities have confirmed auditioning for "Wicked" and its sequel. These include notable figures who were reportedly considered for the lead roles of Glinda and Elphaba. Puth also recently defended fellow musicians against accusations of melodic similarities in their songs. He explained on TikTok that the limited number of notes in a musical scale often leads to accidental resemblances, emphasizing that such occurrences are not typically malicious.
