Charlie Hunnam stars in the latest season of the Netflix anthology series "Monster," titled "The Lizzie Borden Story." Previously, Hunnam portrayed serial killer Ed Gein in the show's third season. For this new installment, he embodies Andrew Borden, the wealthy carpenter reportedly ax-murdered by his daughter, Lizzie.

Showrunner Ian Brennan expressed his delight in having Hunnam return, citing his positive presence and talent. Brennan noted Hunnam's ability to convincingly portray vastly different characters, moving from the chilling Ed Gein to the victimized Andrew Borden, whom he described as a troubled man. Director Max Winkler also found Hunnam's lighter role refreshing, allowing for more camaraderie.

Hunnam himself found liberation in playing Andrew Borden, appreciating the creative freedom that comes with portraying a historical figure about whom less is definitively known. He highlighted the collaborative environment fostered by the show's creators, which allows actors to bring their unique perspectives to their roles.
