AC Chapter One has officially been renamed Chapter One after a completed management buyout. The production company, known for "Mr Bates vs The Post Office," is now under the leadership of producer Patrick Spence. Investment has been secured from Chris Rice, the former co-CEO of Fifth Season, who will serve as the non-executive chairman.
Rice, instrumental in the success of shows like "Severance," has also founded a UK company, Narrative Adventures, which holds a significant stake in Chapter One. Anonymous Content, Casarotto Ramsay, and United Agents, the original founders, will now operate as minority shareholders. Chapter One is currently in production on three high-profile series: a Ben Macintyre adaptation for Channel 4, "Dragon Slayers" for the BBC, and a crime thriller for ITV.
Founded in 2018, Chapter One has a notable production history, including "Best Interests" for the BBC and "Boy Swallows Universe" for Netflix. The company's expansion and new ownership structure come at a productive time, with several projects in various stages of development and production.
