Channel 4's 'The Hunt' Derailed by Poor Viewership
26 Mar
Summary
- New show 'The Hunt: Prey vs Predator' struggles with low ratings.
- Ratings fell significantly after the premiere episode.
- A 33-year-old contestant revealed he is a grandfather.

Channel 4 has significantly altered its primetime schedule due to the poor performance of its new reality competition, 'The Hunt: Prey vs Predator.' The show, which involves ten contestants split into predators and prey competing for up to £100,000, has been moved from its 9pm Sunday slot to 10pm following critically low viewership figures. Initial reports indicate the first episode garnered only 350,000 viewers, with subsequent episodes dropping as low as 180,000.
To compensate for the underperforming series, Channel 4 will air reruns of '24 Hours In A&E' and 'Grand Designs' in the vacated 9pm slot for the remainder of 'The Hunt's' intended run. Despite the show's ratings struggles, some viewers expressed surprise and amusement when a 33-year-old contestant revealed he is a grandfather, with one contestant also sharing his motivation for participating due to a functional neurological disorder.
