On December 4, 2025, Netflix will premiere its highly anticipated new Western series The Abandons, starring Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson as the matriarchs of two very different families living in 1854 Washington Territory.
Headey plays Fiona Nolan, the matriarch of a wealthy, privileged family bound by blood. Anderson portrays Constance Van Ness, the leader of a found family of orphans and outcasts bound by love and necessity. The two women's fates become linked by a series of crimes, a dark secret, a star-crossed romance, and a piece of land with silver underneath.
The collision of these two worlds "echoes the American struggle of the haves and have-nots, in a place just beyond the reach of justice," according to the official synopsis. The series also stars Nick Robinson, Diana Silvers, Lamar Johnson, Natalia del Riego, and Lucas Till in supporting roles.
The Abandons marks the latest collaboration between Headey and Anderson, who previously faced off as iconic characters Cersei Lannister and Dana Scully. Fans of the two actresses are eagerly anticipating their on-screen showdown in this gritty new Western drama.
