Summary
- Delhi High Court dismissed Celina Jaitly's petition for consular access.
- Her brother, Vikrant Jaitly, refused legal aid and communication.
- Vikrant is detained in the UAE since September 6, 2024.

The Delhi High Court has dismissed a petition filed by actor Celina Jaitly, which sought consular access, legal assistance, and communication with her brother, Major (Retd.) Vikrant Jaitly. Vikrant Jaitly has been detained in the United Arab Emirates since September 6, 2024. The court dismissed the petition after being informed that Vikrant Jaitly did not wish to communicate with his sister and preferred to handle legal matters only after consulting his wife.
During the hearing on March 16, 2026, the court was apprised that Vikrant Jaitly had already been granted consular access but had declined legal representation, including a pro bono offer from a UAE-based law firm. The court directed authorities to remain in touch with Vikrant and provide assistance if required, observing no further need to keep the petition pending. Earlier, in February 2026, the Foreign Ministry had informed the court that Vikrant did not wish to meet Celina or accept her help, amidst claims by Celina that her brother had been 'illegally abducted and detained'.
