Celina Jaitly, the Bollywood actress, has been desperately pleading for the release of her brother, Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, an Indian Army officer who has been detained in the UAE since September 2024 over national security concerns. In an emotional Instagram post, Celina revealed that she hasn't slept peacefully for a single night, constantly worrying about her brother's well-being.
The family has now sought the government's help, with Celina's lawyer stating that a nodal officer has been appointed to facilitate communication between Celina and her brother, provide him with effective legal assistance, and keep the family updated on the case status. These steps are expected to help secure Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly's release and strengthen the ties between the UAE and India.
Celina previously addressed the crisis, expressing her trust in the Indian government and her hope that they will do everything to protect her brother, who is a fourth-generation soldier and has served in the special forces. The case is set for further hearing on December 4, with Celina's lawyers continuing to fight for her brother's freedom.
