Summary
- Catwoman animated film was months into development before being canceled

- Dynamic Duo, a new animated DCU feature, is now in the works instead of the Catwoman film

According to a recent report, Warner Bros. has been on a cancellation spree, with the latest victim being an animated Catwoman movie that was months into development. The director of the upcoming Dynamic Duo feature, Arthur Mintz, revealed that he had previously been working on the Catwoman project before it was scrapped.
Despite the Catwoman film being in an advanced stage of production, Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav, known for his cost-cutting measures, decided to cancel the project. However, the director of the non-DCU Batman franchise, Matt Reeves, took it upon himself to create a highlight reel from the available footage and pitched it to Warner Bros. executives.
While the executives were reportedly enthusiastic about the Catwoman project, the studio's marketing department pushed for a larger story to justify a bigger release. This led to the decision to pivot the focus to a new animated DCU feature, Dynamic Duo, which will showcase the stories of both Jason Todd and Dick Grayson.
Although fans may be disappointed by the loss of the Catwoman movie, the Dynamic Duo project, set to release in 2028, promises to be a unique blend of animation styles, including puppetry and stop-motion. The film will also feature the acclaimed comic artist Jock behind the scenes, adding to the excitement.
