- Tyldesley aims to revive Coronation Street's 'golden age' with old-school storylines.

Catherine Tyldesley has reportedly made the decision to leave her role in Channel 5's "The Good Ship Murder" due to the demands of her Coronation Street comeback. Tyldesley, who has starred in the drama since 2023, will make her final appearance as first officer Kate Woods in the upcoming fourth series.
Her return to Coronation Street, reprising her role as Eva Price after an eight-year absence, began in October 2025. Sources indicate that while her character in "The Good Ship Murder" could have been killed off, producers opted for a happier conclusion to accommodate Tyldesley's schedule.
Tyldesley has voiced her commitment to helping Coronation Street return to its "golden age." She believes this involves reintroducing "character led storylines" and strong female characters, a style she feels the audience craves and that the current producer, Kate Brooks, is successfully implementing.
