Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett has submitted new plans for the landscaping around her five-bedroom eco-home in Mawgan Porth, Cornwall. The proposals detail a grass driveway, granite steps, and a decking area, alongside extensive shrubbery including olearia bushes and ornamental grasses.

This development follows previous applications that generated significant local discontent. Residents previously complained that the construction work had transformed their picturesque village into a 'building site,' leading to 'unaffordable' property price hikes and 'ruining' the area's charm.

One holiday home owner alleged that noise from the prolonged construction 'destroyed' her guests' holidays, resulting in an estimated £60,000 loss in rental revenue. The initial demolition of the old cottage on the site was also halted due to the discovery of bat droppings, requiring the couple to implement a plan for preserving the protected species.
