Residents at Parkfield Grange Care Home in Stourbridge, England, recently concluded a 10-day immersive experience playing their own version of the popular television series, 'The Traitors'. This initiative concluded just as the show's latest season wrapped up on January 23. The care home's adaptation closely followed the format of the original program, incorporating challenges such as missions, roundtable discussions, and engaging murder-mystery activities like puzzles and scavenger hunts.
Parkfield Grange's admissions adviser, Emily Hocking, highlighted the home's commitment to ensuring residents 'are living and not existing.' A notable modification involved replacing eliminations with 'murders,' allowing participants to remain involved even after being 'out.' This inclusive approach ensured no one was excluded from the game. Those eliminated could still contribute as 'guardians,' assisting in identifying the 'traitors.'
Further enhancing the experience, former 'Traitors' contestant Kate Garraway sent a personalized video message of support to the residents as their game neared its climax. The ultimate prize for the winning resident was an afternoon tea, complete with two guests, served in the home's private dining room. The care home shared a video on Facebook showcasing the residents' engagement with the game, featuring moments from vote casting and mission participation.
