Cardi B Overcomes Fear for Album Success

Cardi B was honored with the Best Female Hip Hop Artist award at the 2026 BET Awards ceremony held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Accepting the accolade, the artist shared her journey of overcoming significant fear and anxiety to release her second album, "Am I the Drama?", which followed her 2018 debut "Invasion of Privacy".

"Three babies later, I put the album out, honey. Yes. I overcame my fear, my anxiety and I put it out," the rapper stated on stage. She expressed gratitude to her fans and acknowledged her "babies" and "Jesus" in her acceptance speech.

The event also featured a high-energy performance by Cardi B, presenting a medley of tracks including "Hello," "Check Please," "ErrTime," and "Pretty & Petty" from her recent album. The ceremony highlighted other notable performances and award wins, including Clipse for Album of the Year and Kehlani for Video of the Year.
