It arrived on Netflix this past Thursday and quickly climbed to the top of the streaming charts.
Released theatrically in February, 'Goat' received critical acclaim with an 84% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, praising its animation and voice performances. Audiences rated it even higher at 93%. The film was inspired by and features NBA legend Stephen Curry, who also voiced a character. The voice cast includes other notable names such as Gabrielle Union, Aaron Pierre, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, Patton Oswalt, and McLaughlin's Stranger Things co-star David Harbour.
McLaughlin, 24, is also slated to appear in the upcoming thriller '2034' for Netflix, directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. His former Stranger Things castmates are also active with new projects, including Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown in 'Enola Holmes 3,' Gaten Matarazzo, and Sadie Sink in 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day,' demonstrating the continued success of the show's ensemble.
'Goat' is accessible to subscribers, offering a family-friendly storyline and vibrant animation. The film's strong reception suggests a wide appeal for audiences seeking animated entertainment on the platform. Its recent success highlights McLaughlin's growing presence in the film industry beyond his iconic role in the hit Netflix series.
