Butter Baby, a popular Jakarta-based bakery, has launched its most ambitious project to date: a permanent 50-foot chrome-plated sculpture at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. This installation serves as a new landmark and signals the brand's significant international growth aspirations.
The unveiling event transformed the airport into an immersive "Butterlandia" with a large-scale performance. Founders Nick and Henry Burch, along with Indonesia's minister of creative economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event included theatrical elements and a gathering of hundreds of performers.
Shane Lewis, CEO of Butter Baby, stated that the brand's story is just beginning, with global expansion now commencing. The impressive 7-ton stainless steel statue was fabricated by Co-Museum. This launch follows a viral pop-up in Los Angeles and precedes planned expansions into South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
