Busta Rhymes Honors D'Angelo with Soulful New Track 'Magic'

In a heartfelt tribute, rapper Busta Rhymes has released a new song called "Magic" that features him rapping over D'Angelo's 2000 track "One Mo'Gin." Busta, who had known D'Angelo for 34 years, spoke lovingly about their deep friendship in a recent interview. He recalled first meeting the R&B singer back in 1990 through fellow artists Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad during a Tribe Called Quest studio session.

Busta described D'Angelo as a reserved person whose music and talent "magnified the polar opposite of how quiet he was." He said D'Angelo's impact on soul music was unparalleled, with the singer embodying the essence of what their ancestors had created while also pushing the genre forward in innovative ways.

Separately, rapper 50 Cent joked that he might quit his group G-Unit because his fellow member Tony Yayo took too long to diss fellow rapper Jim Jones. 50 Cent said he's been "doing some soul searching" over Yayo's delayed response. D'Angelo, who passed away last month after a private battle with pancreatic cancer, continues to be mourned by the music community.
