The planned 2026 London premiere of "Burlesque the Musical" has been officially postponed to 2027. Producers Steven Antin and Adam Paulden confirmed this delay in an email to cast and crew, emphasizing it is not a cancellation but a postponement.
The musical's United Kingdom tour has also been significantly rescheduled. Its launch, originally planned for this Saturday, July 25th, has been pushed back. The tour is now expected to commence in Sunderland in August, with initial dates in Woking moved to November.
Sources indicate that production is facing challenges due to the late arrival of stage sets. Crew members and venue staff remain uninformed about the revised delivery schedule, impacting preparations and causing some shift cancellations with payment. Despite these setbacks, rehearsals are proceeding with the cast and director working on an empty stage.
The musical, based on the 2010 film, previously had runs in Manchester, Glasgow, and London's West End in 2024. A European tour was also in the works for next year.
