As the Buffy the Vampire Slayer sequel series for Hulu begins production, rising star actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong is learning the ropes from none other than Sarah Michelle Gellar, the iconic original Buffy.
According to Armstrong, one of the first things Gellar told her when they started filming was, "I will protect you. I'll help guide you." The young actress, who is taking on the mantle of the new Slayer, has been deeply appreciative of Gellar's support and mentorship, both on set and as a young performer in the industry.
"She's just as lovely as she seems on camera. She's such a great person," Armstrong gushed about Gellar. "With everything, I have someone to always go to now."
The Buffy reboot, which is being directed by Chloé Zhao and written by Nora and Lilla Zuckerman, is set to premiere on Hulu in the coming year. Gellar is returning as both a star and executive producer, while Dolly Parton is also on board as an executive producer, reprising her role from the original series.
