Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that the popular K-pop group BTS is scheduled to visit Mexico next year. This confirmation came after K-pop group Stray Kids canceled an anticipated appearance at the National Palace. Sheinbaum had invited Stray Kids to visit Mexico on another occasion.
During a press conference, Sheinbaum also mentioned ongoing discussions between the South Korean and Mexican governments to potentially establish a center in Mexico dedicated to K-pop. This initiative aims to expand South Korean cultural content within Mexico.
This news follows BTS's previous successful visit to the National Palace on May 6. On that occasion, the group met with Sheinbaum and waved to an estimated 50,000 fans gathered in the Zocalo. Stray Kids recently celebrated a significant milestone with their mini-album 'This & That' topping the Billboard 200 chart for the ninth time.
