BTS Leader RM Ponders Marriage and Parenthood Choices

As of October 7th, 2025, BTS leader RM, also known as Kim Namjoon, has been reflecting on his personal life plans, including marriage and having children. During a live session on Weverse last month, the 32-year-old singer shared his candid thoughts on these topics.

RM acknowledged that he is already 32 years old, and expressed uncertainty about his marital future. "If I meet the right timing and the right person, I might get married, or I could just live alone like this. I don't think there's a correct answer," he said. The South Korean rapper also addressed the societal pressures, particularly on women, to get married and have children. He stated that the media and society are catalysts for this pressure, and emphasized that there is no single "correct" way to live one's life.

When it comes to the prospect of having children, RM appears to be quite skeptical. He questioned how he could bring a child into the world, given the impact he had on his own parents' lives during his childhood. "Raising myself is overwhelming in itself," he expressed. RM believes that his generation, those born in the 1990s, is the first where marriage has become more of an option rather than an expectation.
