Broadway Star Jordan Jackson Reprises 'The Great Gatsby' Role

Jordan Jackson, a two-time Tony Award nominee, is making a highly anticipated return to Broadway's 'The Great Gatsby' musical. The 40-year-old actor will reprise his role as the titular Jay Gatsby, which he originated when the stage adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel first opened in April 2024.

To mark Jackson's comeback, the production has released an exclusive music video featuring the actor and his co-star Aisha Jackson, who plays Daisy Buchanan, performing a poppy mashup of the show's beloved song "My Green Light" with Lorde's "Green Light" and John Legend's "Green Light." The epic tune was composed and arranged by the musical's co-creator Jason Howland, and the video was directed by Katharine Quinn.

Jackson first portrayed the role of the mysterious millionaire Gatsby during the musical's premiere at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse in October 2023, before bringing the character to Broadway when the show began performances in March 2024. Now, he is set to return to the role on November 10th at The Broadway Theatre in New York City, opposite Aisha Jackson's Daisy.

The Great Gatsby, with a book by Kait Kerrigan and direction by Marc Bruni, tells the captivating Jazz-age tale of Gatsby's obsession over his former flame Daisy Buchanan. The musical features a talented ensemble cast, including Michael Maliakel, Linedy Genao, Austin Colby, Samantha Pauly, Charlie Pollock and Eric Anderson.
