Sean Phillip, a former assistant and friend of Britney Spears, has voiced suspicions regarding her recent arrest on DUI charges. He posits that the circumstances are "suspicious" and suggests a potential plot to reinstate her conservatorship, especially following the recent $200 million sale of her music catalog.

Phillip articulated his belief that the timing of the arrest, shortly after Spears gained financial independence, is too coincidental. He fears that individuals aiming to profit might be behind this, aiming to put her back under conservatorship. He also expressed doubt about her complete financial freedom, despite the conservatorship's termination.

Spears, 44, was arrested on March 4, 2026, near her Ventura County, California, home on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. She was released the following day. Her representative stated that Spears will comply with legal requirements and is expected to receive necessary support during this period, with her sons scheduled to visit.

The arrest occurred nearly five years after the termination of her 13-year conservatorship. Phillip, who reconnected with Spears recently, shared that she texted him "I'm OK, I'm OK" after the incident. He encouraged her to speak for herself to resolve the situation, recalling past positive experiences with her and her sons.
