A claim that pop icon Britney Spears is set to appear in a Hindi film has been officially refuted. Producer Sadanandan Lucsam had reportedly signed the American singer for a special song-and-dance sequence in his debut Bollywood movie.
Lucsam, known for India's first food comedy 'Salt 'N' Pepper,' told media outlets that Spears would perform the film's peppy title track, which would include both Hindi and English lyrics for broader appeal. He further asserted that payments had been made to one of Spears' agencies and her recording dates were secured.
However, a representative for Britney Spears has firmly denied any such plans. "(There is) no truth whatsoever," the rep stated, suggesting any agreement might involve a different individual with the same name. Spears, born in Kentwood, Louisiana, rose to fame in the late 1990s and has since become a prominent figure in pop music and television.
