The memoir, which has sold over 6 million copies worldwide, chronicles Spears' journey from her childhood in Louisiana to teenage superstardom. It also delves into her battles with mental health, substance abuse, intense media scrutiny, and her relationships.
The book further details the challenging period of her court-ordered conservatorship, imposed by her parents from 2008 to 2021. The film aims to offer a comprehensive portrayal of these significant life events.
Chu has several projects in development following "Wicked," including adaptations of the EA video game "Split Fiction" and the "Hot Wheels" toy line. He is also co-directing an animated "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" with Ariana Grande.
