The Pussycat Dolls members Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, and Kimberly Wyatt have confirmed long-standing rumors that Britney Spears was intended to appear in the 2008 music video for their hit song "When I Grow Up." According to Wyatt, Spears may have filmed scenes for the video, but they were never released, with speculation suggesting her team did not permit their inclusion. The girl group had previously supported Spears on her "Circus" tour in 2008.
The Pussycat Dolls, who officially disbanded in 2010, are now reportedly reuniting for a world tour after a 16-year break. Frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger is confirmed to be rejoining the band. An earlier reunion tour planned for 2020 was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This reunion follows a legal dispute between Scherzinger and the band's founder, Robin Antin, over the canceled 2020 tour. Antin accused Scherzinger of demanding a significant share of profits and creative control, which she denied, leading to a settlement in 2024. Scherzinger has previously expressed openness to a reunion, stating "never say never" regarding the band that propelled her to stardom.
