Joining Sam on his journey is Abdullah, a charismatic local guide whose friendship helps the filmmaker navigate his emotional turmoil. The project is the follow-up to director Sharrock's 2020 breakout film Limbo, which also featured actor El-Masry.
Alone Together is set to begin production in March 2026, using Oman's stunning desert landscape as the backdrop. Sharrock, known for his acclaimed films Pikadero and Limbo, is both the writer and director of this new project, which will be produced by Federica Sainte-Rose and Florian Zeller of Blue Morning Pictures.
