Other beloved shows from the 1970s and beyond that made the top 10 include Dad's Army, Blackadder, Call the Midwife, and Doc Martin. Overall, the 1970s emerged as the decade producing the most-loved television programming.
Basil Fawlty was voted the most memorable TV character, narrowly beating Del Boy Trotter. Two-thirds of respondents aged 55 and over expressed a greater fondness for past television compared to contemporary programming.
