Ruth Gemmell, a star of the Netflix series Bridgerton since its 2020 premiere, experienced a moment of shock during filming for the current season. She discovered that her character, Lady Violet Bridgerton, was set to share an intimate scene with Lord Marcus Anderson, portrayed by Daniel Francis.

Gemmell admitted to being a "little bit shocked" by the revelation, which she learned during a costume fitting. She even went home and cried after processing the news. The scene depicted Lady Violet, a widowed mother of eight, having a private moment with Lord Marcus.
