Bridgerton S5: Francesca & Michaela's Love Story Begins!

Cameras are now rolling for Bridgerton Season 5, with production having commenced on March 24, 2026. This upcoming season will delve into the love story of Francesca Bridgerton and Michaela Stirling, a departure from the original book's narrative that featured Michael Stirling. The sixth book in Julia Quinn's series, "When He Was Wicked," inspires this installment.

Season 5 will focus on Francesca's practical return to the marriage mart two years after her husband John's death. Her complicated feelings emerge when John's cousin, Michaela, returns to London. This season promises to further question social structures, following Benedict and Sophie's Season 4 romance which challenged class divides.

New cast members include Tega Alexander as Christopher Anderson, a charming but self-doubting Casanova, and Jacqueline Boatswain as Helen Stirling, Michaela's spirited mother. Gemma Knight Jones will portray Lady Elizabeth Ashworth, Michaela's confidante and a wise observer of society's unwritten rules.

Season 4 concluded with the poignant cross-class love story of Benedict and Sophie, who fell in love despite societal expectations. Francesca's first love, John Stirling, passed away in Season 4, paving the way for her future storyline. Netflix has also renewed Bridgerton for a sixth season, which is expected to focus on Eloise's love story.
