Summary
- Choreographer Nicole Morel blends dance, architecture, and sound.
- Bricks are used as musical instruments in a unique performance.
- Art connects through immediate personal experience, not just knowledge.

Choreographer Nicole Morel's transdisciplinary work, BRICKS, explores the intersection of dance, architecture, and sound. Inspired by Colombian architect Rogelio Salmona and the ubiquitous presence of bricks in Brazil and Colombia, Morel reflects on permanence and fragility.
The performance features a unique sonic element where bricks themselves act as musical instruments. Collaborating with composer Violeta Cruz, Morel sought to create music derived from the environment, resulting in a layered experience where sound, movement, and material interact in real-time.
Morel also addresses the perception of contemporary dance as inaccessible. She asserts that art is fundamentally about immediate experience and personal perception, encouraging audiences to connect with their own feelings rather than relying on prior knowledge.
