Brian Williams Returns to Media with Netflix Podcast

Brian Williams, formerly of MSNBC and NBC News, is re-entering the media landscape with a new podcast deal. His upcoming show, "We're Back! With Brian Williams," will be available on Netflix and aims to distinguish the streamer from traditional news outlets. This venture marks a significant media comeback for Williams since his departure from MSNBC at the end of 2021.

The podcast promises to feature interviews with celebrity figures and other notable individuals, expanding Netflix's audio content offerings. Williams stated his intention to engage in "interesting conversations with creative, funny, smart, talented, and consequential people," drawing a parallel to the classic interview shows he grew up with. He noted that his previous news roles offered limited airtime for in-depth discussions.

Jonathan Wald, who previously worked with Williams at NBC News and oversaw Amazon's 2024 election night coverage, will serve as the executive producer for the new podcast. Williams' move into podcasting follows his Emmy-winning work anchoring election night coverage for Amazon Prime.
