Brian Fallon's new solo album channels Eilish, Adams

Brian Fallon's new solo album, "Not Bad for New Jersey," is set to release this Friday. The project's genesis traces back to a cover of Billie Eilish's "Ocean Eyes," which Fallon's daughter introduced him to. This unexpected inspiration led to a collaboration with producer Butch Walker, exploring a shared love for glossy rock and roll.

The album marks a shift for Fallon, moving towards a larger, more rocking sound compared to his introspective previous solo work. "Not Bad for New Jersey" features an array of guest musicians, including Brandon Flowers and Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen.

Fallon adopted a more collaborative songwriting approach for this album, working with artists like Donovan Woods, Brandon Flowers, Lori McKenna, and Nick Long. This shift reflects his current creative phase of inviting others into his process.

Recorded over three weeks near Nashville, the album captures a live, jamming feel with Walker and drummer Eric Slick. Fallon is also planning future touring and new material with The Gaslight Anthem, potentially incorporating collaborative songwriting for the band as well.
