Bret Hart Called Vince McMahon After Trump WrestleMania Feud
24 Dec
Summary
- Bret Hart contacted WWE in 2007 about a potential storyline with Vince McMahon.
- Hart was inspired to reach out after witnessing the Donald Trump WrestleMania match.
- A career-ending concussion prevented Hart from wrestling McMahon at that time.

In 2007, following the widely publicized 'Battle of the Billionaires' match between Vince McMahon and Donald Trump at WrestleMania 23, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart contacted the company. Hart, living in Hawaii at the time, spoke with Kevin Dunn, a key figure in WWE, expressing interest in a potential storyline with McMahon.
Hart revealed he felt he could have engaged in a feud with McMahon, inspired by the events of WrestleMania 23. However, a legitimate and severe concussion he had sustained previously made wrestling impossible. This physical limitation prevented him from pursuing the opportunity at that specific moment.
Despite the initial setback, Hart eventually returned to WWE for a program with McMahon in 2010, years after his initial inquiry. This later match, however, is notably remembered as one of the least-regarded bouts in WrestleMania history.
