Brandon Flowers graced The Tonight Show with a performance of "An American Dream," a reflective track from his recently released album, "Thrasher." The song contemplates the relationship between wealth and contentment. Accompanying Flowers were his band and backing vocalists, delivering a powerful rendition of the country-inspired ballad.

During his appearance, Flowers engaged in a conversation with host Jimmy Fallon about "Thrasher." The album features contributions from esteemed musicians like David Rawlings, a frequent collaborator of Gillian Welch, and veteran instrumentalists Bruce Bouton and Charlie McCoy. McCoy, known for his work on Bob Dylan's Nashville LPs, shared extensive stories during the recording sessions.

Fallon also prompted Flowers to answer questions on the piano, including inquiries about the forthcoming Killers album. Flowers confirmed that new material is in progress, with titles under consideration, but kept specifics private due to the early stage of development. He noted this collaboration marks the first time all four members have worked together since the "Battle Born" album.

Flowers previously hinted to Rolling Stone that the new Killers record is progressing well, with positive moments and breakthroughs. The intention is for each band member to have significant creative input. While a precise release date is unconfirmed, Flowers indicated that early 2028 is a more likely timeframe than the end of 2027.
