Brahmastra 2 Gears Up: Astraverse Expansion Imminent

The ambitious Brahmastra franchise is set to continue with Brahmastra 2, as producer Namit Malhotra has indicated that work will commence on the sequel. Malhotra, who recently attended CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas for the global promotions of his project Ramayana alongside actor Yash, confirmed his intention to expand the Astraverse. Although an official announcement is still awaited, this news comes as a significant update for fans eagerly anticipating the next installment.

Ranbir Kapoor, who starred in the first film, had previously confirmed that the sequel is in progress. He further elaborated that director Ayan Mukerji is currently working on War 2 and will begin pre-production for Brahmastra 2 post its release. The narrative of Brahmastra 2 is expected to focus on the backstory and romance between the characters Dev and Amrita, whose past relationship was subtly teased in the climax of Brahmastra: Part One: Shiva. This exploration promises to deepen the mythology and character arcs within the Astraverse.

Fans have been actively speculating about the sequel's development, especially after Ayan Mukerji shared pictures in October 2025 with a script, sparking rumors of early work on Brahmastra 2. Meanwhile, Malhotra and Yash are fully engaged in the global promotional activities for Ramayana, with Yash's other upcoming project, Toxic, also generating buzz.
