The Boys Universe Expands with New Spin-offs and Prequels
25 Oct
Summary
- The Boys franchise has rapidly expanded with new spin-offs and a prequel series
- Diabolical, an adult animated anthology, has been canceled
- Gen V, a second live-action series, has been well-received

In the six years since The Boys premiered, the show's universe has expanded significantly. In July 2021, a spin-off web series titled Seven on 7 debuted, followed by an adult animated anthology series called Diabolical, which premiered in March 2022. Unfortunately, Diabolical has now been canceled.
However, the franchise's growth continues. On September 29, 2023, a second live-action television series titled Gen V hit the screens and has been met with acclaim, much like the parent series. There's even more news, as a prequel series called Vought Rising is currently in production.
The two most popular shows in the shared universe, The Boys and Gen V, have been praised for their quality. While some flaws exist, the majority of fans have been impressed by both series. Some seasons, however, have been better received than others, with The Boys' third season being considered the peak of the franchise so far.
