The fifth and final season of the acclaimed series, The Boys, is set to premiere on Wednesday, April 8, with the release of its first two episodes on Prime Video. This season will conclude the saga of Homelander's increasingly authoritarian rule and the efforts to oppose him.
Following the events of Season 4, Homelander has strengthened his position with the aid of Sister Sage. Victoria Neuman has ascended to the role of Vice President, secretly aligned with Vought. Butcher, meanwhile, is nearing his end due to a Temp V-induced tumor, which has paradoxically granted him new powers.
In the Season 4 finale, Butcher eliminated Neuman and retained the Supe-killing virus. Ryan tragically killed Grace Mallory, leaving him traumatized. Hughie, Mother's Milk, and Frenchie were captured, while Starlight leads a desperate rebellion. Puppet President Steven Calhoun imposed martial law.
Across the pond, Gen V's students, after confronting the villainous Thomas Godolkin and his plans to eliminate 'frivolous' Supes, have joined forces with Starlight's resistance. Marie, whose powers mirror Victoria Neuman's, is a key figure in this alliance, preparing for a final stand against Homelander's oppressive regime.
The upcoming season promises a climactic showdown, with Butcher prepared to unleash a virus that could eradicate all Supes. This action will irrevocably alter the world and the fate of its inhabitants.
