11 Dec, 2025
Summary
- Zootopia 2 nears $1 billion worldwide in its third weekend.
- Five Nights at Freddy's 2 projects to exceed $100 million.
- Ella McCay, James L. Brooks' directorial return, faces a low $4M opening.
The current box office is being led by Disney's Zootopia 2, which is poised to reclaim the top position in its third weekend and is on the verge of crossing the $1 billion global revenue milestone. This animated feature is expected to gross around $26 million, further solidifying its massive success.
Universal and Blumhouse's Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is also performing strongly, with projections suggesting it will surpass $100 million domestically. Despite a significant drop from its opening, the film's dedicated fanbase ensures its continued financial performance.
Conversely, 20th Century Studios' release of Ella McCay, directed by James L. Brooks after a 15-year hiatus, is facing a challenging opening. With a projected $4 million debut and poor critical reception, the female-led dramedy appears to be underperforming expectations.
