Stars Align for Boston Pops' 2026 July 4th Bash

The Boston Pops' annual Fireworks Spectacular will illuminate the Charles River Esplanade this Saturday, July 4th. Access to the Hatch Shell lawn opens at 4 p.m., with the Boston Pops commencing their performance at 7 p.m. A "revolutionary-themed" drone show is scheduled for 9 p.m., immediately before the fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. This year's display features an earlier launch time, concluding around 9:30 p.m. Attendees can expect a star-studded lineup, including Grammy winners Chance The Rapper, Lainey Wilson, and Trombone Shorty. The event will be hosted by "Wicked" actress Megan Hilty and "Glee" star Jane Lynch.

The Pops will also perform "Song of Massachusetts" and "Spirit of America" to commemorate the nation's 250th anniversary. The fireworks can be viewed from the Esplanade, across the river in Cambridge, or from a boat on the Charles River, with specific boating restrictions in place. For those unable to attend in person, numerous Boston bars and restaurants are offering rooftop viewings. Public transportation is highly recommended, with MBTA stops Charles-MGH (Red Line) and Arlington Street (Green Line) being the closest.

Heavy security will be present, and attendees must pass through bag checks. Prohibited items include alcohol, backpacks, coolers on wheels, cans, sharp objects, and weapons. For those outside Boston, many other Massachusetts cities and towns will host their own July 4th fireworks displays.
