Borg Queen Agnes Jurati Aids Resurrected Captain Kirk in Saving Starfleet

As of October 1st, 2025, a new Star Trek comic series, The Last Starship, has introduced an intriguing storyline set 800 years in the future. In the aftermath of the universe-changing event known as "The Burn," which destroyed a vast amount of dilithium and crippled Starfleet, a resurrected James T. Kirk has been tasked with keeping the Federation alive.

Aiding Kirk in this endeavor is a familiar face from the recent Picard series - Agnes Jurati. The former Picard character has reappeared in the future, most likely due to her assimilation into the Borg and becoming the queen of a rogue sector. Jurati offers her support to Starfleet, providing them with Borg transwarp technology to help continue operations in place of the now-scarce dilithium.

However, Jurati's help comes at a price. She requests a sample of Kirk's blood, which was housed at a Daystrom Institute black site in space. With this blood sample and Borg technology, Jurati is able to recreate the captain out of nanites, effectively resurrecting him to lead Starfleet's comeback.

The ultimate plan seems to be that this new Kirk will save the Federation and set it back on the path to success. While this is a fascinating premise, it's important to note that in the established Star Trek canon, it is primarily the crew of the USS Discovery who are responsible for putting the Federation back on track.
