Producer Bhushan Kumar has shed light on the deliberate casting choices for Border 2, highlighting director Anurag Singh's singular vision for the role of IAF hero Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon. Singh was adamant from the outset that only Diljit Dosanjh could portray Sekhon. Kumar emphasized that this decision was rooted in the strong professional rapport between Dosanjh and Singh, stemming from their successful collaboration on previous Punjabi films.

Kumar also addressed the challenges faced due to online backlash following the film's announcement. He firmly stated his refusal to buckle under troll pressure, asserting that Border 2's casting was guided by creative integrity rather than online outrage. The producer underscored that a company like T-Series should not compromise on its artistic vision due to online dissent.

Further extending his support, Kumar praised Ahan Shetty, describing him as a sincere and dedicated actor who embodies Suniel Shetty's values. He acknowledged Shetty's arduous journey, including a prolonged wait for significant roles and enduring public chatter.
