Creator Boots Riley has firmly ruled out a second season for his 2023 Prime Video series, 'I'm a Virgo.' Riley suggested that any continuation of the story should exist in the viewer's imagination, playfully commenting on excessive television consumption.
Riley explained that significant portions of the original script were cut, amounting to 40% of the content. This included a nearly completed penultimate episode and other substantial scenes. He noted that budget issues also affected production.
He mentioned that his frequent collaborator LaKeith Stanfield's unavailability, due to filming 'Haunted Mansion,' impacted the first season. Riley also elaborated that while some cut content was intended for a potential second season, he ultimately felt it wouldn't be the right creative direction.
'I'm a Virgo' aired for seven episodes on Prime Video and featured a cast including Jharrel Jerome, Olivia Washington, Brett Gray, and Kara Young. The series also included notable guest appearances from actors like Danny Glover and Morgan Fairchild.
