Wales to Honor Bonnie Tyler: Funeral Details Revealed

Fans have an opportunity to say goodbye to the celebrated singer Bonnie Tyler in Wales next month. Funeral arrangements for the late artist have been publicly shared. A celebration of life service is planned for Monday, August 17, at noon BST, taking place at Swansea Minster, St. Mary's Church.

Two days earlier, on Saturday, August 15, Tyler's coffin will arrive at her Mumbles home at 3:30 p.m. BST. Members of the public are invited to line Newton Road to pay their respects as the procession passes.

Following the service in Swansea, Tyler's coffin will proceed through Skewen, the village where she grew up. The procession is expected to pass through Skewen around 1:20 p.m. BST, before a private family service. Tyler, born Gaynor Hopkins, passed away on July 8 in Portugal at age 75 due to an ongoing illness.

Tyler, known for hits like "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "It's a Heartache," had a career spanning over five decades. She released 18 studio albums and represented the UK at Eurovision in 2013. In 2023, she was honored with an MBE for her contributions to music.

Her family has requested family flowers only. Donations in her memory can be made to Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales and Cerebral Palsy Cymru, charities she supported as patron.
