Producer Boney Kapoor has acquired the remake rights for the Tamil political satire Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil (TTT) for Hindi and other North Indian languages. Kapoor reportedly saw the film recently in Coimbatore and was impressed by its content. Discussions progressed in Chennai, leading to the deal being closed.
Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil is a political satire focusing on a village panchayat leader. The narrative unfolds as he manages a chaotic day involving both a wedding and a funeral. This dual event forces him to mediate numerous community tensions and family feuds.
The original Tamil film was directed by Nithish Sahadev, who also co-wrote the script. Sahadev is recognized for his work on the Malayalam film Falimy. The lead role in TTT is played by Jiiva, with supporting performances from Thambi Ramaiah and Ilavarasu.
