Bon Iver has announced the launch of their archival releases series, Volumes, with the first installment focusing on live recordings. Titled "Selections From Music Concerts 2019-2023 Bon Iver 6 Piece Band," this collection features 11 tracks. These recordings were made between 2019 and 2023, spanning locations from Los Angeles, CA, to Adelaide, Australia.
The anthology, which includes the track "Heavenly Father" recorded in Milan, Italy, in November 2022, will be available in digital and physical formats on April 3. This initiative, inspired by archival series from artists like Bob Dylan and Neil Young, aims to showcase the band's evolution and their best performances.
The six-piece band performing on these recordings consists of Andrew Fitzpatrick, Jenn Wasner, Matthew McCaughan, Michael Lewis, and Sean Carey, supported by live engineer Xandy Whitesel. This release follows Bon Iver's recent announcement of the return of the Eaux Claires festival.
